Meet Promotion

I was wondering what you meet directors do to promote your upcoming meets...I mean other than listing them on the WPC Meet Schedule and mentioning them in the various internet powerlifting forums. What do you do locally to get new APF members, get good attendance at the meets (spectators), and to get more participants to lift in those meets? Do any of you do newspaper advertising, flyers at various fitness centers/gyms? Any tips would be appreciated.

Call/email every lifter you can. Make flyers and entry forms and post them in every gym you have in the area. Ask lifters you know around the state not close to you, to pass them out and put them in your gyms as well. Get a website up and running to advertise, we use our gym site.
